Rezz- The music of Electronic music producer and Dj Rezz is Resounding. If that makes any sense. It is unique and stylish with hard hitting beats and thematically its cage rattling. Ive never been to a Rezz show but after seeing all the interactive visual projects shes put together over the years it would be exiting, to say the least. One of my favorite mixes of hers is “Nightmare on Rezz street”. Which is a amazing 15-30 minute mix of horror and mind boggling visuals. This video is as creepy as it is eerie and awesome in a delightful head trip type of way. Its actually quite a treat as it was realesed around Halloween, and I think was labeled as a halloween mix. Similar to something like zeds dead would do. Another amazing thing she did was the amazing album she dropped on us, blessing it with a full virtual Reality experience streamed live in its entirety. This comes after Album of the year Certain Kind of Magic and a remix of see with out eyes, glitch mob song “I could be anything” Feat. Elohim. I would ideally love to see this Amazing Dj perform live at Rezz Rocks.
Julian Grey- It wasen't until a deadmau5 live stream that I discovered this awesome artist who now has a full album signed with the mau5trap label. His you tube channel Julian Grey Media is awesome By the way and he offered tutorials and advice on all things like music production and how to use halvetica. If “Autonomous” Was any measure of how successful I think this artist is I think hes already on a good path toward awesomeness and beyond. I like his some more eclectic remixes as well such as his “Crosses” and “Let go” remakes.
Mndsn- I cant simply write about mndsn. I have to express him in a passionate and loving way. Weather be it hard hitting yawn from the track available on soundcloud called “One for gene” a tribute to the now late gene wilder from willy wonka fame. Or the more fully finished projects such as Yawn Zen(Which I have on cd) Hes always getting it in.
Free the robots- Im guessing weather it be a night full of mushrooms inspiring an album or packing up and moving to some island nobodys ever heard of, Free the robots continues to produce an excellent mix of beats for music lovers everywhere. Tracks like “Turbulence” And “Magarib” and “Nose Flute Jam” come to mind as inspired and spacey and vibe tribe beats that are resonating with me as a listener.
Daedalus- In Greek Myths Daedalus means “Inventor”, but in this case its a beat wizard putting together slack beats and samples, composing through his name sake. A resounding applause from listeners like me on ambient and soothing tracks like “Endless sea” and “Hold Sway”. And to more inspired tracks like “You've heard” or “Looking ocean”. Keeping me inspired and the flame lit from tracks I've heard on sound cloud such as “” and the new single raindrops. As eclectic as it seems to listen to such an inventive producer as he, I have been inspired ever since being shown the “Not a Beat, Not a Scene” documentary on you tube. Which was excellent.
Flying lotus- Flylo” is probably the epitome of the beat scene coolness I may be trying to exude right now. With amazing tracks like “Zodiac shit” and “Twin Peaks” the cosmic nature and coolness of the producer are in full on jam mode. Then there's the reverent and ethereal and profound “Cosmagramma” which has cool artwork and I really want on vinyl.
Gas-lamp Killer- I simply wonder what type of creative and esoteric existence a musician named gas-lamp killer could possibly lead. Weather it be a wild inside look at studio life and creative endeavors or a full blown block party kind of tour only the beat scene could provide. I find it all very fucking interesting.
